Publisher's original orange wraps with profile portrait of President Paul Kruger.

48pp. Illustrated with portraits and some very interesting vintage Pretoria adverts. Text in Dutch and English. 

Very good condition. 

This is the original 1904 edition and not the 1973 State Library reprint.

"Land en Volk" was a newspaper started in Pretoria in 1888. Eugene Marais and J. de V. Roos bought the press in 1891, and in 1892 Marais was in sole control. In 1896 he transferred ownership to J. Y. O'Brien. Marais' first book Deeds Office Practice of the Transvaal was published by this press in 1903.
