Translated into English: Muhammad. A study of the founder, life and deeds of the Muslim lawgiver, and the results of his religion.

A scarce and unusual publication, looking at the life of the prophet Muhammed and the impact that Islam has had on the world, written by the Jewish author David Moses Hermalin at the end of the 19th century.

David Moses Hermalin (1865 – 1921) was a Romanian-born Jewish American Yiddish writer, journalist, newspaper editor, and playwright. He immigrated to America in 1885 and began writing for the Nyu Yorker Yudishe Folkstsaytung when it was founded in 1886. Hermalin wrote novels and treatises on popular philosophy. He made a number of loose Yiddish translations of European literature, including the works of Leo Tolstoy, Émile Zola, Guy de Maupassant, Boccaccio, Arthur Conan Doyle, and Jonathan Swift. He also wrote a Hebrew pamphlet on the Jews and the Freemasons as well as an English article on Romanian Jews in America. (wikipedia.com)
