Description of life in a 19th Century House of Correction in South Germany. The “welcomes” and the “farewells,” were in addition to any corporal punishment ordered by a court or by the prison governor.
Condition: Good-very good. Slight rubbing to boards and spine, light sunning to spine, and slight smudges/stains to boards. Publisher’s label on front pastedown. Two small stains to rear endpaper and pastedown. Pages cut. A couple of instances of light splitting to gutters between pages. Text is clean. Still well bound.
