Bowler lived in Cape Town in 1833 and worked at the Royal Observatory, he set up as an artist in 1837. See at Length in Mendelssohn I p. 177. Loose, text browned, binding with worming and damage. In fact the binding needs to be restored and the book block needs to be rebound. But complete with the plates in very good/ fine condition. ( see pictures).
