An important South African photographic collection, in the same series as David Goldblatt's IN BOKSBURG. Bophuthatswana was one of the nine "Bantustans" or "Homelands" created under apartheid legislation, with the purpose of removing black South Africans' citizenship rights to these scattered areas.
