Although this is was already a thick and heavy book, it was intended to be followed by a second volume to complete the cataloguing all the important buildings of Pietermaritzburg; no second volume, however, seems to have been published.
Green faux leather boards with gilt lettering to the spine and front board, map on front free endpaper, second (folding) map in pocket at the back. xxii +1190 pages of b/w-illustrated text and 6 appendixes, all profusely illustrated by b/w photographs.
The dust jacket has slight wear around edges. This copy is in very good condition.
