This first edition of 1936 was limited to 1000 copies.

Signed by the author on a free front end paper. The dust jacket is present but has some wear and paper loss around edges. 421 pages. Blue cloth covers with the title to the front board and spine. A solid binding wit no ink or inscriptions.

This book contains popular stories based on tribal legends, from the Northern Transvaal, Basutoland and elsewhere. The author acknowledges advice from Professors Raymond Dart and Hoernle from the University of the Witwatersrand, and information on native customs from Mr. Franz,  member of the Education Department in Pretoria.
