16pp + 7pp balance sheet, 6 fold-out financial sheets, 4 fold-out plans/maps. With a loosely inserted Directors’ Monthly Report dated May 1896, and loosely inserted Statement of Ore Treatment and Results fold-out sheet, which may have formed part of the original annual report. Condition: Good. The front cover has open and closed tears, and has been reinforced with white paper sheet glued to back of front cover. Some overall rubbing to covers. Pages have all been punched with small holes through top edges, presumably for filing. The fold-out financial sheets have some edgewear, and the fold-out maps/plans have light edgewear, and some tears to their folds. Overall text is clean, and book feels well bound.
A scarce copy of the Crown Reef Gold Mining Company for the year ending in March 1896. With fold-out plans/maps. A fascinating look into the finances, income and expenditure of an early Johannesburg gold mining company. A must for the collector of books on mining and the early history of Johannesburg.
