The complete six-volume first edition set of Rudolph Marloth's magnum opus.
Volume I: Published in 1913 and contains 36 coloured & 30 monochrome plates.
Volume II: Published in 1925 (in two volumes or "sections") and contains 52 coloured & 28 monochrome plates.
Volume III: Published in 1932 (also in two volumes or "sections") and contains all coloured & monochrome plates.
Volume IV: Published in 1915 and contains 42 coloured & 18 monochrome plates.
The bindings of all the volumes are solid and internally they are clean. The green cloth boards are very bright and clean - as a result of having been protected by the jackets for over a century.
The jacket of volume I has moderate edge wear but has survived in very good condition.
The jacket of volume II, section I is missing, section II jacket in near fine condition.
The jackets of volume III, section I is fine, section II near fine.
The jacket of volume IV is in very good condition.
4 volumes in 6 parts (volumes 2 & 3 each in two parts or "sections"), 180 colour plates, many plain plates, and numerous text figures.
The famous Fig. 59 in volume 4 is missing, as per usual. On page 1 there is a tipped-in slip where the publisher explains, "Fig. 59 (see p. 186) is inadvertently detained and will be distributed to subscribers as soon as possible".
