A very good plus clean copy of the first edition of the first Olive Schreiner biography, written by her husband shortly after her death. 8vo. 414 pages. Fore and lower edges uncut. In the original green cloth with gilt lettering on the spine. Mild offsetting to the endpapers and a few spots of minimal foxing on a couple of pages, otherwise unmarked and a very sharp copy in bight boards. In the scarce dustwrapper which is unclipped but has some chipping at the extremes of the spine (which is sunned) and the corners, a 4x3cm. triangular chip at top of the front panel adjacent to the spine and an internal archival tape repair of a split between the spine and the front panel. Good only but most uncommon.
