A richly illustrated hardcover book of 285 A4 size pages, delving into the background of not only Jacob Snider and the tragedy of his dying of starvation in a garret in true Victorian style just days before his rifle reached acceptance, but also the later history of Colonels Dixon and Boxer of the British Ordnance who freely lifted ideas from other inventors and made a few bob on the side out of the production Sniders after Jacob’s death, to their eventual downfall.
