Collation: [i] blank, engraved portrait frontispiece by J.H. Baker with tissue guard, vignette title page, vii, [i] list of illustrations, 190pp, [i] blank. 

Portrait frontispiece and twelve engraved plates in text done by S. L. Fildes. All plates present and bound in accordance with the list of illustrations. 

This first book edition was published by Chapman and Hall in 1870 following the monthly instalment releases. 

Original front wrap for part #4 bound in.

A rare first edition of Charles Dickens' last unfinished novel.
