The British South Africa Police comprised men recruited to escort Cecil John Rhodes' pioneers to Mashonaland. In addition to their normal police duties in the fast growing colony of Southern Rhodesia, men of the regiment saw action in the Boer War, both World Wars and the bush wars of the 1960s and 1970s.
