An album of sixteen plates depicting the capital of the Boer Republic of the Orange Free State.

This title corresponds with the one listed in SABIB Vol.IV, page 668, where only the following is recorded:

'Title catalogued from front cover: "Views of Bloemfontein"

There is no publisher recorded for this album, although I strongly suspect it being Barlow Bros. & Co. as their tiny bookseller's ticket is still attached to the top corner of the inside front panel of this copy. The firm was established in 1876, operating as printers, booksellers and stationers. After the Anglo-Boer War they continued as bookseller's and stationers.

Only two copies of this scarce album are recorded in the South African Bibliography, one in the Johannesburg Public Library, and one in the State Library, Pretoria.
