Half leather rebound with gilt lettering on spine, new end pages, pp. xiv + 408, b&w plates, fold-out map. Small library stamps on verso of title page, edges of two pages worn with some loss, light foxing esp. on first and last pages, else good.

Extracted from Czech (Kenneth), An Annotated Bibliography of African Big Game Hunting Books 1785-1999, (Trophy Room Books, Agoura, 2011), page 185: "The work describes the territory flanking the Zambesi River, with a chapter on the big game of the region. The descriptions of the game are more natural history oriented, but Maugham does include several instances of hunting buffalo in the region.”
