Czech (Dr. Kenneth) An Annotated Bibliography of African Big Game Hunting Books 1785 – 1999, Page 159: 'Lang embarked on an extended journey, partly by car, from cape Town, through Rhodesia, Tanganyika and into Kenya. He hunted lions and buffalo near the Sand River, then travelled by car into Northern Rhodesia to hunt buffalo along the Kafue River. After being delayed by a storm of locusts, he continued into Tanganyika, bagging more buffalo and hippopotamus near Lake Rukwa and the Songe delta where he barely survived a buffalo stampede that killed one of his native scouts. Later in Kenya, Lang was badly mauled during another buffalo hunt and forced to curtail his travel.'
