Limited edition: unpaginated [52 pages], 1 full colour plate, 2 partly coloured plates and 21 black and white plates from drawings and woodcuts by Amos A. Langdown, accompanied by poems by P.J. Philander, full red leather binding, with the signatures of the authors on the upper cover in gilt, titled gilt on the spine, a very good copy.

P J Philander (25 November 1921, Caledon –† 7 February 2006, Las Vegas) was an Afrikaans poet and writer.

Amos Langdown was involved for many years in art education. He trained as a teacher at the Zonnebloem College in Cape Town, first teaching at a primary school in Oudtshoorn. In his career he maintained a balance between his own practice as an artist and his passion for teaching. He became a schools inspector and taught at the Hewat Training College in Cape Town and later at the Dower Training College in Port Elizabeth.
