An undated reprint of the first edition of 1933. Red covers with the title to the spine. 260 pages. Slight edge wear to the dust jacket. Name of previous owner on fep. A very good copy.

Blunt was an elephant control officer in Tanganyika, hunting primarily in the Linda Province. He details the natural history and biology of the elephant, relates his experiences as a cultivation officer and provides an excellent chapter on past and future elephant hunters. “I am sure that an elephant looks in human beings in the same way as we look on dangerous insects.” A classic of African elephant hunting.
