Wood-engraved frontispiece, pictorial title page printed in orange and black, map and full-page illustrations by Dorothea Braby, bound in half morocco with cream buckram cloth sides by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, gilt decorated on the upper cover with a Celtic device, top edge gilt, other edges uncut, the leather is slightly rubbed at the corners and the top and bottom of the spine, a very good copy.
Colophon reads: Designed, produced and published by Christopher Sandford at the Golden Cockerel Press, London, in Caslon's Old Face type on mould-made paper, and finished on the Nineteenth day of February, 1948. Composition and presswork under the supervision of F.J. Newberry at the Chiswick Press. Compositors: A.G. Douglas and C.H. Rae. Pressman: J. Bierman.
