First edition. 427 pages, illustrates all 262 of Mufangejo's known graphic works (16 in colour), black cloth boards, a fine copy in the dust jacket housed in a matching slipcase.

Editor’s note. John Ndevasia Muafangejo, world famous for his exceptional linocuts, has received critical praise and recognition accorded to no other contemporary African artist. Born in humble circumstances in Angola in October 1943, he showed such creative potential that he was awarded a bursary in 1968 to attend the famous ELC Art and Craft Centre at Rourke’s Drift in Natal, South Africa. Here he learnt how to apply his genius to the graphic medium and from then until his untimely death in Namibia in 1987 he created more than 260 works. The majority of these are linocuts, which have been compared by international art critics to the best produced in the twentieth century.
