A very interesting town history written and compiled by the Paarl Gymnasium Senior Matriculation Class of 1924. The articles deal with the whole spectrum of the historical town's business, social, religious and economic activities throughout its past, present (1924), and even the future (2024!) as the second part of the book is dedicated to a forecast of a future Paarl of the year 2024 based on the trends of that era. As such this book can undoubtedly be viewed as an early expression of South African science fiction. Some painfully amusing illustrations complement the text in this section.
