Some page edge browning. Binding open at page 33, but not loose. Book holds together very well. Light brown cloth-covered boards, black titles on front and spine. Some small edge-wear on spine top and lower edges and front lower corner.

Pages [i-v]vi-vii pp1-447.

Eyewitness account of the Siebe of Peking in 1900, very valuable for its day-to-day course of the whole siege. It may also dispel the incorrect or uncertain roles of the European powers, and lastly it describes vividly the sack of Peking by the soldiery of Europe. A unique period in history, very clearly described.
