Czech (Kenneth) Bibliography of African Big Game Hunting Books 1785 -1999, page 204, 'While stationed at Aden, the author ventured on two hunting trips to Somaliland, particularly the Haud region. There are numerous encounters with lion, leopard and a variety of plains game including both greater and lesser kudu, oryx, hartebeest, various species of gazelle and dik-dik. An often overlooked title with plenty of big game hunting adventures.'

The book concludes with a fifty two page chapter entitled 'Rifles for Dangerous Game.'
