One page autograph letter signed (in French) by Anatole France, the 1921 Nobel Prize for Literature winner. Circa 60 words. Not dated, but below France's signature he identifies himself as Assistant Librarian of the French Senate, a post he held from 1876 - 1890, dating the letter to  somewhere between these dates. On a single sheet with a single fold for posting, easuring 175x110mm.  There is some splitting at the fold but otherwise in good condition.

My friendly AI assistant translates the letter roughly as follows:

Pierrefonds, Dimanche

Dear Sir and Colleague, I have received here, quite late, the delivery of your excellent and so very new Dictionary, in which one of my books is evaluated with a kindness that touches me. Please accept, dear Sir and colleague, the assurance of my gratitude and my highest regards, Anatole France - Assistant Librarian of the Senate.
