Publisher's printed green wraps.
This copy is issue no. 10 from the eighth year of publication (October, 1904).
The pagination continues from previous issues of the year (pages 149-164). This was done in order to bind all the unsold copies into an annual at the end of each year. The wraps were removed when bound into annuals with the result that unbound copies in their original wraps are very scarce.
The first issue of ONS KLYNTJI "Our Little One" appeared in March 1896. It was a monthly magazine that ran until 1905 with occasional interruptions. These were due either to financial constraints in its final years, or the outbreak of the Anglo-Boer War (1899-1902). Many of the first Afrikaans writers like A. G. Visser, Totius, M. H. Neser, G. R. von Wielligh etc. found their voice in this magazine that was edited by the leader of the First Afrikaans Language Movement Rev. S. J. du Toit.
