HENRY MELVILLE TABERER, Esq. (EARLY South African cricketer appearing for Natal, Transvaal and Rhodesia. Played one test match. Spoke the native languages fluently and was secretary of Zululand, and magistrate of Eshowe. Chief Native Commissioner of Mashonaland in 1895. Captain in the Umtali Volunteer Regiment during the Mashonaland Rebellion 1896-97 and twice mentioned in despatches)
