Joseph CONRAD (1857-1924). The Medallion Edition of the Works. London: Gresham, 1925-1928. 22 volumes (including two supplemental volumes), octavo (8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches). Frontispiece to each volume. (Spotting to first and last few leaves of each volume). Original blue cloth, medallion portrait in gilt and blind on upper covers, spines gilt (occasional slight scuffing or bumping, light old dampstaining to lower cover of the penultimate volume [see images]).

An attractive set of the first substantial posthumous edition of Conrad’s works, here with the two final supplemental volumes. The inclusion of these late and unfinished writings (Suspense and Tales of Hearsay) supply a final book-end to a literary career which began with ‘Almayer’s Folly’ over thirty years earlier.
