A very scarce copy of one of the earliest annual reports by the Witwatersrand Chamber of Mines, which, after 1902, was renamed the Transvaal Chamber of Mines.
Published in Johannesburg in the final decade of the 19th century, at the time of the Jameson Raid and President Paul Kruger's South African/Transvaal Republic.

Fitzpatrick of Simmer & Jack East (and author of Jock of the Bushveld), Theodore Reunert, Carl Jeppe, H. M. Guest, H. Rider Haggard (author of King Solomon's Mines), Georg Schmitz-Dumont (President Kruger's Inspector of Mines - killed in action in 1900 at the Battle of Spioenkop).
