Extracted from Czech (Kenneth), An Annotated Bibliography of African Big Game Hunting Books 1785-1999, (Trophy Room Books, Agoura, 2011), page 185: "The work describes the territory flanking the Zambesi River, with a chapter on the big game of the region. The descriptions of the game are more natural history oriented, but Maugham does include several instances of hunting buffalo in the region.”
