As the title indicates this book is intended to serve only as an index to the classes of the official records preserved in the Cape Archives from the beginning of the Colony's history to the year 1806. It has been felt that little appears to be known as to the nature of the different records which make up our collection of national documents. The author, trusts therefore that the following pages will supply this want and indicate the importance of these records, which contain the most authentic sources for the history of South Africa.

Grosgrain blackboards, with gilt lettering to spine.

Owners name to front endpaper dated 1918.

Title, Preface, Contents, List of Illustrations(4). vi plus 85 pages including index.  Usual offset to endpapers.

Very clean copy.
