Paper-board slipcase with illustration of Blacksmith Plover, laminated dustjacket with same cover illustration and text to the front flap, grey cloth-boards brown lettered to the spine, head- and tail-bands, plain cornfield endpapers, 96 mainly unpaginated pp of prelims, text and illustrations on matt art paper.

The frontispiece illustration is the same Blacksmith Plover. Half-title and title-page. Imprint page. Foreword by Rex E R Banks. Photograph of the artist and 9 pp appreciation by Dr Alan Kemp. The artist's title pages for this portfolio - "21 original plates with explanations, 1918-1920". Followed by 21 double-page spreads with bird paintings opposite handwritten descriptions. Followed by pp 1-21, each with a reduced b/w illustration of one of the birds in the portfolio and printed transcriptions of the artist's descriptions. Followed by a photograph of the artist's gravestone and a list of subscribers.
