This fine copy is Number 96 of the limited edition of 1000 copies signed by Josh Spencer.

Lawhill was a four-masted barque with a displacement of 2816 tons, Passat was larger still; her displacement of 3180 tons made her the world's largest active sailing vessel in 1947.

DESCRIPTION. Full-bound in navy morocco or faux-leather with gilt-embossed design and lettering to the upper panel and spine, plain endpapers, the title-page is printed on a tissue overlay to the photographic frontispiece, other section title-pages incorporate tissue overlays, 128 pp of prelims, text, glossary, acknowledgments and sail plans + errata page. Illustrated throughout with sepia duotone photographs. 

CONDITION. The boards and binding are fine, the front free endpaper is wrinkled and carries a 3-colour Safmarine bookplate, the back endpaper is lightly foxed. However, the contents are fine, complete and unmarked except for the editor's signature on the limitation page.
