This is a copy of the first (1949) U K edition of Tennessee Williams's famous play set in New Orleans and which was later made into a famous movie. The first London stage production was at the Aldwych Theatre on 12 October 1949, with Vivien Leigh as Blanch Dubois and Laurence Olivier as director.

Green buckram boards, gilt to spine, plain endpapers, 112 pp of text, with the title-page printed in black and red.

CONDITION.  The boards are rubbed and slightly bowed. The spine is sunned, with reduced legibility of the lettering. Bookseller ticket, tape mark and ink number on the front paste-down; ink number and ownership stamp on the front free endpaper; the same stamp on the back free endpaper; light crayon marks on pp 32/33. The contents are otherwise unmarked, complete and undiscoloured, making the copy collectible and a candidate for rebinding.
