This is a relatively early monograph by John Maynard (later Lord) Keynes, who was regarded as perhaps the leading economist of the twentieth century. His most influential book - The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money (1936) - was sold for $394 on a recent auction in this series.
- Preceding this 1923 title were the author's Indian Currency and Finance (1913), The Economic Consequences of the Peace (1919), A Treatise on Probability (1921) and A Revision of the Treaty (1922). (For some reviews of these, see two of the images.)
Although ex-library, this copy is in very good condition. A few pencil markings are not obtrusive and have not been erased.
viii + 209 pp + 2 pp of publisher's announcents.
Loosely inserted in this copy is an undated cutting from an unknown newspaper (probably The Star): "Gen. Hertzog's Message to Colonial Secretary. Aim of New Government: To promote mutual welfare and foster common interests." (See image)
