A history of that exploration, early colonialisation and the fight against slavery are added to a number of ethnographical chapters. 611 pp plus 1 p ads, engraved frontis (a rare portrait of Chuma, Livingstone\'s brave companion) and numerous engraved vignettes and plates, 16 maps, some folding, in colour. In decorative blind-stamped covers with gilt on front and spine, slightly rubbed; some wear top and bottom of spine, 2 bookplates, otherwise in generally good condition.
