- "Second edition, with additions and corrections"
- A large and heavy book (quarto, 2 kg)
Quarter-bound in brown calf with matching cloth-board sides, with Robert Cassidy's fine bookplate, with the motto Fortuis in Arduis, on the front pastedown, and with a fine engraving illustrating the title page; followed by many illustrations throughout the book's 526 pp, followed by publisher/printer announcements of other recent books (see images)
Produced in Dublin and claimed by the publishers to be one of the first finely bound, typeset and printed books to appear in the British Isles from a press outside London; John Jones was particularly proud of the type-fonts he had had cast for him in London
- Despite the book's age (216 years), the boards and endpapers remain almost as new - strong and square
- This is a scarce and valuable book, and this copy is complete, unmarked but foxed - more so to early pages but scattered throughout (see images)
