Two volumes with two daguerreotype frontispieces by [Matthew?] Brady, approximately 300 steel and wood engravings, some full-page; two fold-out maps/charts (one badly folded with a tear).

Apparently ex libris (catalogue numbers on spines and a number stamp), wear to spine edges and tips, some internal spots (occasionally affecting illustrations). Otherwise a tight, complete copy of  Kane's account of the expedition to "Washington" (on the Greenland coast) and "Grinnell  Land" (Ellesmere Island).
