Buff dustjacket printed in brown on all five faces, tan artificial leather boards, gilt to upper panel and spine, plain endpapers, tipped-in colour frontispiece, then Contents; Acknowledgments; Elliott's Exhibitions: Here was History Brought to Life; Elliott, the Photographer, Elliott, the Man; the Elliott Collection, followed by 30 captioned full-page b/w plates on gloss-art paper.
CONDITION. The dustjacket is missing its tipped-in illustration but is retained because of the interesting information on the flaps and the details of six other Balkema titles, including the valuable Tabulae Geographicae Coloniae Bonae Spei. The binding is fine. The fore-edge of the front free endpaper and verso and the next leaf are lightly stained. The frontispiece is fine. The title-page is lightly sunned in register with the frontispiece. The contents, including the reproductions of Elliots photographs, are complete, fine, unmarked and undiscoloured.
