Album leaves comprising six photographs (and two duplicates) laid down on stiff card. Two bear the impressed stamp of the photographer A. Weber. The leaves are soiled and faded.
One is an original photograph depicting a camp with many tents on a hillside beyond scrub and trees. The others are photographs of hand drawn sketches one of them signed ‘K. Tucker’ and are captioned, ‘Final attack on the Rebel stronghold. Koegas.’ Two form a panorama of the ‘Camp at Koegas.’ Another shows, ‘Ambush at Koegas’ which took place on 4th May 1878 and another the ‘Final Attack on the Rebel Stronghold, Koegas.’ The final photograph of a sketch relates to the battle at Paarde Kloof on 18th June, 1878.
The leaves measure 270 x 215.

The ‘Koegas Massacre,’ which took place on 30th October 1878, by a patrol of burghers under Field-Commandant Van Niekerk is fully covered the actual event taking place at Luisdraai, some twenty miles from the camp at Koegas.
