Ted Clayton competed for South Africa in the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin - the Olympic games officiated over by Adolf Hitler. Clayton participated in 3 events, the 1,000 metres, Individual Road Race and Sprint but did not place.
Horace Wilton ‘Sammy’ Bartleet was a cycling journalist, author, amateur racer, cycle designer and collector. His collection of cycles formed the basis for the Coventry Transport Museum and he published a cycling classic, ‘Bartleet’s Bicycle Book’ in 1931, which covered the history of cycling as well as details of his bike collection.
