Foreword by Frank Bradlow.

The book presents a 2-col location plan and 31 of Joy Girdwood's nostalgic ink-and-wash sketches of buildings and places in Bedford as they might have appeared in 1906.

This is a superb copy.

The laminated dustjacket, illustrated and lettered in 2 cols to the upper face and lettered in 2 cols to the spine, would have been rated fine except for very slight sunning towards the edges. The brown cloth-boards, white lettered to the spine, have a touch of rubbing at the spine corners. The plain cream endpapers are unmarked and fine. The 71 pp of illustrated text are unmarked and undiscoloured.
