The title-page and verso (pp 1/2) are missing, there is a small unrepaired tear on the last leaf of the text (pp 1667/8), the diary page (the last leaf of the book) is chipped and two of the divider tabs are bent, although present and readable. The copy is otherwise complete, including all tinted text pages (numbered in roman and not included in the 1668 pp) and all board and other inserts.
The upper red cloth-board is better than very good, with the corners only slightly rubbed. However, the damaged lower board and spine have been replaced with red Skivertex-boards and (an untitled) spine, with new endpapers at the back (with the loss of the advertisements formerly on these pages) and half a new endpaper at the front (preserving the Standard Bank advertisement on the paste-down). The back of the book-block has been strengthed, but the page opening remains fully flexible, with the book opening flat: a very neat job. There are advertisements on all three page edges.
