This is a fine, complete and unmarked copy of the first printing of the first edition of the 15th of Patrick O'Brian's famed Aubrey/Maturin novels in a fine unpriced-clipped dustjacket (14.99 pounds net) and a custom-made slipcase.
[The slipcase was not part of the original first-edition copy but was made by the late Peter Carstens, South Africa's leading bookbinder of his time. The slipcase boards are covered by white paper internally and by finely-woven dark-blue cloth to the sides, matching marbled paper to the back, top and bottom edges and matching calf to the rounded front edges.]
