A very nice copy of the first edition of this South African literary highspot which has been filmed twice. There is a neat signature and date(1948)on the ffep. and a small bookseller\'s label on the front pastedown, ow. this is an about fine unmarked and unfoxed copy (possibly unread) in the original beige cloth. The dw. has some edgewear most notably at the extremes of the spine with slight loss (about 1/2cm.) at the top of the spine. It is not price-clipped and overall is a much better wrapper than usually found on this title.
