"Democracy in America" is a book written by Alexis de Tocqueville in 1835 and 1840. The book is a detailed analysis of the political and social system of the United States and its strengths and weaknesses,  often considered one of the most important works on democracy and is still widely read and studied today.

2 Vols., modern full leather binding; foxing, brown stains and tide marks.  The overall condition is acceptable, meaning that while it shows signs of wear and aging, it is still readable and can be collected.
