The author was elephant control officer in southern Tanganyika and hunted a large number of these magnificent animals. Also contains notes on their natural history as well as on great hunters of the past. 260 pp plus XXXV pp ads at back. In original, simulated elephant hide biding, which has not worn well; gilt on spine has faded as usual, but front elephant decoration still quite bright. Slight foxing and ownership in prelims, otherwise a good copy of this very scarce book.
