Millais traveled to Dinka territory in the Sudan. In the Sudd region, his party hunted reedbuck and kob, but was unsuccessful in finding elephant. Continuing along the Nile Valley, they bagged buffalo, hartebeest, and trophy roan. Perhaps his best chapter describes hunting buffalo and eland in the Bahr-el-Ghazal region. The illustrations, for the most part, are taken from Millais excellent sketches. Original brick red cloth with bright gilt titles. Original end papers are tanned, but firm and tight. Previous owner's small bookplate removed from verso of front free end paper. Well illustrated. A heavy book, this will incur additional international postage from the U.S.
