The first guide book ever published on Rhodesia, this is the 1979 Books of Rhodesia facsimile of the 1896 edition. No 631 of limited edition of 1000 copies. 48 pages with 8 pp of contemporary black-and-white photographs, and many pp of original appropriate advertisements, 2 fold-out maps, one of roads to Tati and Macloutsie from Mafeking, and the other from Tati and Macloutsie to Bulawayo. The book deals with methods of transport, routes, hazards and hardships and how to avoid them. Pages 1-48 plus four new prelim pages including 1979 publisher's introduction. Dust Jacket in Very Good condition with minimal rubbing on front and back edges. Pale green boards with original titles, book clean and tightly bound. A very good copy.
