Pamphlet, Judgement, Grey Shirt, Libel Action at Grahamstown, stapled in wrapper, 64 pages, A5 size, condition:good.
The judgement arose from a case in which the Rev. A.Levy, of Port Elizabeth, sued three Grey Shirt leaders, arising out of the publication of a defamatory document said to have been stolen from the Western Road Synagogue, of which the Rev. Levy was the minister in charge.
The Grey Shirts (or Gryshemde) were members of the South African Gentile National Socialist Movement. They were a Nazi organisation of the 1930s and 1940s, also known as the South African Christian National Socialist Movement. Initially referring only to their paramilitary wing, the Grey Shirts soon became shorthand for the movement as a whole.
