I started my book life with Struik publishers, Cape Town, in 1982, after having worked in London and Hong Kong. I moved to the Rand in 1986 and have now been dealing in books for 32 years.
Our focus is on the European construct in Africa and history as identity. Our interests range from conflict, the Zulu War of 1879, to printed ephemera (struggle posters) of the apartheid era, to South African contemporary art and theatre, especially the catalogue raisonné and theatrical programmes , and also photographs. Essentially we are a Southern and Central African Bookshop.
We are also on the lookout for books and other printed material that add to the narrative going forward.
We were exhibiting at the 'National Antiques & Decorative Arts Faire' (July 2015) at the Sandton Convention Centre, the 'Arms Faire and Classic Arms Auction' (August 2015) at The South African National Museum of Military History and also the Joburg Collectable Book Faire.
